The Polaris Series is a cost-efficient and accurate infrared temperature switching device used for the recognition of hot parts. Hot metal detector. Available in temperature ranges from 250 to 1800°C. LEDs on the rear of the sensor indicate which switch state the Polaris is in.
The Polaris series of infrared temperature switches are used for non-contact detection of hot metal parts or overheating, thereby triggering switching operations which are used for sorting or activating a cooling or similar process. Polaris temperature switches measure in the short wave spectral range and are therefore mainly used for measuring of metals, ceramics, graphite, etc. Polaris sensors measures within the temperature range of 250°C to 1800°C.
The short wave spectral sensitivity of these units is important for the precise detection of polished, bright metal parts, because the impact of emissivity deviation on accuracy is much lower in the near end infrared region. The Polaris temperature heat switch provides 2 transistor outputs and includes 2 yellow LED’s on the back of the sensor indicating the switching position. Focus distances range from 6.7″ (170mm) to 79″ (2000mm) depending on the choice of selected optics. Spot sizes range from 1.3mm to 11mm. Available temperature ranges are from 250 °C to 1800°C.
